Dear 2022 BCLTS Annual Conference delegates,  

Thank you for participating in this conference in person or online. We sincerely hope that you’ve found it useful and informative. In total, 125 colleagues attended this conference, with 35 at the OU and 90 via Zoom. Participants were from the UK, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Russia, Israel, Australia and the USA.  It has been a great atmosphere to see so many colleagues and to share the research findings and thoughts.

Conference proceedings 

Please note that the deadline for submitting your full paper for the conference proceedings will be 30^th of September 2022. Further details will be sent by Dr XU Shejiao (conference@bclts.org.uk).

We are delighted to announce that registration for our annual conference is now OPEN!  

Please book your ticket from the link below as soon as possible. For those who wish to attend in-person, please note the places are capped and registration will end by the 1^st of June.  Also make sure you choose ‘In-person Attendance’ before check-out.

Please find attached a list of hotels and how to get to OU and OU campus map (the conference dinner will be in Taipan, so very close to the hotels in the first category).

On 24^th June: In-person registration starts at 12pm UK time and the conference starts at 13:00 UK time.

On 25^th June: It starts at 8:30 UK time and finishes at 17:00 UK time.

The British Chinese Language Teaching Society (BCLTS) and the School of Languages and Applied Linguistics at The Open University are pleased to announce the 19th International Conference of BCLTS, Creativity in Chinese Language Teaching and Learning -- Research and Practice in Challenging Times. This will take place online and face-to-face at the Open University Milton Keynes campus, on the 24^th/25^th June 2022.

• 15^th April 2022: Deadline for abstract submission
• 6^th May 2022: Notification of acceptance/rejection
• 1^st May 2022: Registrations open

• 1^st June 2022: Registration for onsite attendance close
  
• 10^th June 2022: Registration for online attendance close
• 24 – 25^th June 2022: Conference
• 30^th September 2022: Conference full paper submissions close
• April - May 2023: Planned Conference Proceedings publication

Conference fees for either online or in-person 

Please note:  

• In-person attendance is limited, due to ongoing COVID uncertainty. Priority will be given to presenters. Details on how to attend in-person will be sent out after the 1^st of May and will be announced on BCLTS website.
• Accommodation and travel expenses will be self-funded for non-BCLTS members.
• Tea/coffee and lunches for on-site participants
• Optional Conference dinner (£30) for on-site participants
